unclewest, is there anything that we as a society, can do about the IED's? Maybe some sort of hanging large magnet that could be flown over the areas, pulled from the sand and dropped off the road.... Wish I was an imaginative cartoonist and an engineer....It seems impossible that we can't think of something to get rid of these things.

The only other thing I can see we could do is make large but cheap remote controlled cars (like the models we current make and play with) and have them do a pre-run over the road to be traveled by convoys....
