breitbart.com Sharpton and Imus have influence because the media gives it to them. By appearing on Sharpton's radio show, Imus imo was trying to make the issue about him vs Sharpton. The ethical thing to do would have been to ignore Sharpton and Jackson. Go apologize to the girls on the Rutgers ball team and then go home and keep his mouth shut for awhile.
