Amazing, isn't it? The gov't claims a few % annual inflation and nobody screams. A few trips shopping and gassing says they're lying. research.stlouisfed.org research.stlouisfed.org CRB is about double gov't CPI. Now CRB isn;t "weighted"- -but by the same token it isn't "massaged" for political purposes. And CPI is nassaged for more than political purposes- -numerous gov't payments are "indexed" to it.
