Here is what my controlling friend had to say:

Not having control was the big thing for me and it sounds like it is with her also. I had to figure out what I DID have control over and what I DIDN’T. That was the hard part. Here are a few things I did:

1. I let up on the housework and arranged with my daugh and daugh in law who would do what when. That included my son coming down to take the garbage out for me weekly.

2. I bought some very comfortable, colorful, cheap sweatsuits. I didn’t want to hang out in a nightgown and have that “sick” persona”. So figured that way I would at least be reasonably dressed.

3. I took my anti nausea meds faithfully and that helped a lot!!

4. I also bought antibacterial hand wipes and put paper towels in the bathroom for people;e to use instead of hand towels….cut down on my chance of picking up something from anyone when my white counts went down.

I hope that is helpful…does she have a husband who can help?
