Perhaps you don't realize it, but you have invoked - by name, no less - an argumentative fallacy, apparently thinking it some kind of argumentative trump card.

Even if one grants that seatbelt laws somehow infringe on your freedom (freedom to be stupid, I guess), there is no logical basis for concluding that greater infringements on your freedom must follow from it.

Just out of curiosity, though, how do you feel about child safety seat laws and seatbelt laws applicable to children riding in your car?
