The instructions that came with mine said about once a month run it up to 100. I do that, then let it back down to my number when I go to bed that night. Mine only changed by itself one time. I have no idea why. I tend to check it each week when I change sheets. Another thing I love is that it's way up high and that makes it so much easier to make the bed without all that bending.
