President Bush said Saturday that a Democratic plan to set an end date for the war gives "our enemies the victory they desperately want."
Oh, I guess it wasn't their rush to war, their lack of planning, their woeful postwar strategy, their bullheaded inability to recognize and correct mistakes, their hubris, their incompetence, their desire to play God in a grand neocon nation-building privatization experiment, their willingness to place our troops in harms way with inadequate equipment and training, their lack of foresight that has caused our military to be stretched to the breaking point, and, finally, their audacity to commit our wounded troops to filthy tenement style housing while cynically using their bravery to cover their corruption and ineptitude.
No, in fact, it was the Democrats plan to fix this mess that offered our enemies victory.
