Clinton was not just lucky. He worked hard and balanced the books. He was a tireless diplmat and uniter. But the far right refused to be united and went after him with smears and dirty tricks. That was a real tragedy for this country. Gore beat Bush in 2000. And Gore should have won by a landslide. The Bush-Cheney years will be seem as some of our darkest and most despicable for a long-long time to come. History will treat Bush-cheney like what they really are, shysters and conmen who gamed the system to screw 99% of the country.
