My take now is that he will have to resign because he has completely lost the staff.

Ya gotta wonder. How could such a bright guy be so stupid? Here is a nerd who ascended to the right hand of the throne, and got the celebrity treatment from the kind of women who wouldn't give him the time of day when he was a "20 something." It's a classic example of what happens when you think with your little head.

Didja ever notice that when we get into the last couple of years of an eight year Presidency and the third string gets in, the coverups start happening? They don't know how to handle things. Look at Gonzales. If Gonzales had simply stood up in January and said, "These fine attorneys simply didn't follow our policy direction and we replaced them with people we thought would do that better," all of this would have simply blown over in less than a week. They were all political appointees being replaced by more of the same. Ed Morrisey summed it up best:

Enough already. If President Bush doesn't act to fire everyone involved from Gonzales on down for the sheer incompetence and deception, then he deserves every moment of televised committee hearings he gets from this molehill that Gonzales & Co built into Mount McKinley.
