You totally missed my point on that there is not advantage of being first to 100% conversion. AMD will still be 100% 45nm before Intel is. "intel is in a worse boat. Even when their GPUs are on their leading edge process, the performance doesn't measure up to old generation value GPUs of their competitors, AMD and nVidia." The purpose of integrated graphics have been to enable low cost perform. intel current business model is for enable sales of CPU. Using your argument, AMD should have integrated a R600 class 128 shaders monster into 690G IGP instead of using a 4-pipe RV410 derivate. By the way, intel chipset use trailing edge process. There is something called add-in board for the performance PC.
