TJ, Taiwan is not seriously saying they are One-China. Some of them are = those who abandoned China in recent decades, taking over, illegally, Taiwan from the local yokels. It wasn't really illegal other in the sense that it was by chimp rules rather than human rules. <taiwan says it is but part of one china, what can you do? >

Mostly the locals are trying to avoid causing the megalomaniacs in Beijing from going nuts as threatened constantly. By saying they are for One-China, they hope to keep the MAD ones out of a fully belligerent monkey-state.

The Taiwanese I know don't think in terms of taking over China and certainly don't wish to be taken over = and they have avoided that by coming to live here, and in Australia. Admittedly my polling is like your observation of how many women there are in China, so I might not have good data. But it's more than nothing and fits with the way I know humans are.
