Rupert withdraws (his PM to me is posted below). This of course does not change my earlier request for a successor in any way.

Regards,

Rink

I have been asked by several users of the AMD board to allow my name to be put forward as Moderator.

In previous correspondence you told me that the subject of the moderation of the AMD board is off-topic and must be conducted on an entirely different board - the AMD Unmoderated. In fact you banned me for mentioning it - the first ban I have had in about ten years on SI
[Rink: that was a two day suspension].

In response to questions, I have explained on the AMD Unmoderated thread what I would do if I were moderator.

Having made my point, I now wish to withdraw my name from consideration. While the kind of liberal moderation policy I propose would not be burdensome on any moderator, it would be of low priority for me since I am starting a number of new projects in the next two months.

If you do mention my name on the main board I would ask that you cite this entire private message and not paraphrase it.
