The decision on income trusts was poorly thought out, and will probably cost the government and the people of Canuckistan more than the Conservatives ever thought about. Minister Flaherty proved he has a second class understanding of the stock Markets as more and more of the trusts wounded by his ill advised meddling are bought out and taken private by non Canadian companies. Of course as the second highest taxed country in the world we have to expect more and more jobs to go to cheaper jurisdictions like the US. Of course the profits on those companies will now be taxed by their new jurisdictions, which means that Mister Flaherty has given the US Government a huge gift, and lost the millions of dollars of taxes that were being paid by seniors, something he seemed completely unable to figure out in his insipid meanderings about lost taxes. The seniors were paying more in taxes than the companies would have as seniors face clawbacks and other financial penalties because of liberal schemes to steal the pension benefits the government pays out.

Years of completely inept leadership from the Liberals, followed by not much better from the Conservatives means we have a huge bureaucracy, which mostly justifies their supervisors bloated salaries, and few of the dollars trickle to the places they are needed, like healthcare. I cannot speak for the other provinces, although Quebec seems to be less in a bind, but Ontario is hugely over managed and woefully lacking in anyone who actually works to accomplish the work that actually helps the citizens.
