Could you leave the markets alone, though? ... maybe it gets in your blood, becomes a good part of who you are, what you do ... for sure each sector will go through its cycle, still there is another one following ... like you i began with resource juniors and greatly prefer them, however having been through a few cycles am now determined to be open to new fields as they appear ... after metals, which i give to the end of '08 at least [US presidential year], some form of energy is going to remain important, and no doubt some forms of technology will rise over the years ... some flower will bloom from the horseshit, it always does
There is also the problem of what to do with the funds you generate in this bull, assuming you get out in time with any left - where do you put them, in treasuries? ... hard to do, after watching fiat vs. real money for decades ... in physical metal? ... hard to do, if you've become bearish on their near future ... for me it will always ultimately be land, at the right price, the default position, just an integral part of self-identity ... but you have to have liquid stuff too, and it's all speculative, we sure got to know that for certain ... so imho the speculation can only end when the speculator does, only question remaining is, Where to next? |
