The group between the Depression and WWII kids, and the 60's Flower Children, is called the "Sandwich" generation. Yes, I am of that generation...we are the smallest of the groups...born between 1935 and 1945....
Most of us believe "you do right, you will win"...and "right is right, and wrong is wrong" and "if it's to be, it's up to me".... We do believe in God, Home, and Country.
The funny thing is, the last part of the Sandwich generation went to college and grad school during the riots, and totally shabby misbehavior. Many of those folks are QUITE liberal today, and yet, most of them manage to keep civil tongues in their heads, and most I know are simply dismayed with the hippies who never grew up...(as in Michael Moore types)...
Many of those people in all sorts of walks of life are my friends. |
