Since the FDA can be quite strict, and many companies with genuinely helpful herbal remedies might not be able to afford new studies, it does concern me. Germany, for example, runs far ahead of us in their use of herbal therapies- but I don't know what sorts of testing they require- but I do know doctors prescribe them, and that (imo) is a good thing.

As the FDA is in the pocket of big pharma, this worried me. That's not to say that false herbal claims don't worry me as well, but I'd be hard pressed to say that I am more worried about those, than about big pharma squashing competition- as I know they would, regardless of whom it hurt, or how many.
