ManyMoose, unfortunately, many of the BEST qualified candidates never run for public office. IMHO there are plenty of folks across the country who could fill any public office, including the Presidency, and do an admirable job.

The trouble is, these qualified folks are not power hungry glory seekers; probably could not raise the campaign funding required and are simply not willing to subject their families to or endure the extreme pseudo scrutiny and pounding from the MSM.

An honest person with the most profound beliefs, convictions and strategies simply would not stand a chance against the D.C. sharks or the media, especially the NYT.
