Bob, I think that the Rally's deal is very important to CHKR and we could very well see a profit this quarter. The Rally's deal is important
because Bill Foley CEO of CKE restaurants and Chairman of the Board at CHKR personally holds about about 400,000 shares of CHKR with warrants to buy another 700,000 of CHKR. I really feel
that CKE will eventually buy CHKR because BILL FOLEY and all his
top managers at Fidelity National Title bought into CHKR's stock in
Feb 1997 at about $ 1.19 a share . So can Bill Foley buy CHKR
outright using CKE restaurants.... I dont think so because he has a controlling interest in CKE restaurants with his position as CEO and as
a shareholder and he is a big shareholder of CHKR. So what does he
do............ he gets Rally's to buy out CHKR and then he buy's out
Rally's . CKE restaurants will have a 42 % interest in RALLY's
after this deal with CHKR stock is done....so naturally you can
assume that CKE will buy the rest of Rally's stock after it has bought
CHKR, making this a very comfortable family. Oh by the way Bill has
got his top people running CHKR's making sure that that his investment is protected. He is one smart man....that's why CKE
restaurants has gone from 10 to 42 in 18 months. These
people have the BEST margins in the restaurant business !!!!!!!!
