Thanks for posting this story concerning battery techs. It's a good example of what some offshoring and globalization observers have held out as the next great test of domestic competence in international trade, i.e., the ability to hold the advantage in innovation. I note the government's influence here in the DoE's $15Million funding of A123's pioneering work (those are my words, but that's what it is, effectively), as a means of bootstrapping "its version of lithium-ion technology for hybrid-electric vehicle applications."
