To you, it's different because it's over here. Strange how life that is closer to home has more value than in far away places.

This is the crux of the right's "fight them there so we don't have to fight them here". To them, Iraqi lives are not as important as American lives, so they think it better to create a battlefield there, and draw terrorists to it, than to risk them coming here. Of course, that resulted in tens of thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands, of innocent civilian deaths, but, hey, at least it wasn't at VT...
