True, it matters little to them as to who killed them, even if it was only their own incompetence in dying in the desert from dehydration.

But from an ethical point of view, I would be calm about being the one to kill people invading my property, but I would not be willing to shoot somebody leaving my property or abandoning theirs which they are doing, in the hopes of acquiring even more valuable property.

Theft, or power-grabs for property of other things, is as old as biological history.

Mexican invaders are thieves, hoping to steal USA citizenships. Of course, they can't actually steal a citizenship, schooling, hospital treatment etc, but they can steal use of roads and various things, including displacing Americans in economic competition.

If the invaded choose not to destroy or evict the invaders, then they can't be said to be losing. They are perhaps getting some benefits which they consider worthwhile, such as low-paid employees.
