They got that system in the ghetto already. Hardly any shootings there, right? Every crackerjack has a rod in his pocket. We Americans love our guns as much as any people. I'd say that balancing gun rights with the greater societal good that would come with no guns is one of the most difficult issues of our time. We can't seem to accomplish either side very well. Many people are not smart enough or emotionally stable enough to handle a gun. There's no such thing as unpulling the trigger. Having a gun in everyone's hand would be worse than there being absolutely no guns. Neither extreme is even possible. Best we can hope for is something in between. And that ain't easy because all it takes is one deranged fellow to screw up the works. Perhaps while were groping for the something in the middle we should try a little tenderness?
