There is a fourth reason someone might kill Johnston........and that is that they get a real thrill out of killing humans. The BBC has been so pro-Palestinian that it wouldn't seem logical to kill one of their journalists. And the BBC says they have not received any demands.

There is definitely this undercurrent in the BBC's coverage of the Alan Johnston kidnapping - 'wait, you've got it wrong! we're getting your story out! we're on your side!.'

The Palestinian journalists are seconding this motion, which is true enough, considering Johnston's track record. They are also trying to do it for self-protection, because if BBC reporters can be killed with impunity, then they are all dog's meat and they know it well.

But good luck with that fellas. The BBC cannot seem to muster an ounce of outrage at Johnston's kidnappers. They just sound sad about it, as if he had been swept away in a flood. If the Israelis had arrested him and put him into prison with his safely assured, then the outrage would be so great it would be oozing out of the radio and television.

But the Palestinians are simply immune from judgement.
