i was watching a student being interviewed yesterday who said when asked about why so little sense of urgency...

he said he couldn't imagine letting students be uninformed if there was a shooter still at large and classes still being held

very correct assumption on his part, except what he couldn't imagine was exactly what the university admin did...

from what i can see of the timeline, the first email that went out 2 hours late left the impression that the police had the matter under 'control'

there was already a huge police presence on the campus while the massacre was going on

what does that tell you?

what they should have said from the START to the campus was.....there's been a double murder, the shooter is not in custody, we don't know were he is, STAY in your rooms, classes cancelled.

you make this sound like it is some extremely convoluted logistical nightmare to give adequate warning to the teachers and students

it was not
