Your response ignores the question and goes into whether or not the Iraq invasion was a good idea. Lets stick to the previous topic rather than opening a brand new one.

Why do you think Bush and his team should be punished for their crime (which I presume is allegedly breaking UN law) while Saddam should not have been punished for his crime of breaking numerous UN resolutions?

Nations were intended to argue rather than fight.

Yeah, and governments are intended to improve the lot of the populace they rule over, not worsen it. Sometimes nations don't work, and sometimes governments are bad, and the UN system of talking about bad nations and bad governments does nothing to improve them, and in fact establishes their legitimacy since they are allowed to participate in the UN, so in these situations, as far as I'm concerned, force is preferable to talk. Some people can be told to behave and they change their spots. Other individuals get executed for misbehavior which is deemed more harmful than their life is valuable.
