<<That's probably because the pro-Israeli AIPAC donors want what they want more. The resources of the pro-Palestinian/anti-Israel crowd are probably much, much higher than the pro-Israel crowd. Lets see, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE have something like 30% of the world's known petroleum reserves. Who's side do you think they are on?>>

The Saudis/Kuwaitis etc. have much higher priorities with the US than Palestinian concerns. They look after THEIR own interests first.....besides, having the Palestinian issue alive is a political plus for them. All the more reason for hating the Israelis.

You're still feeding into my original point. The Pals are completely screwed when it comes to lobbying power in the US. To compare their efforts to those of AIPAC is simply not valid and to use that as an indicator of their desire for autonomy is simply ridiculous.

<< You shouldn't begrudge AIPAC because its supporters are willing to put their money where their mouth is while their opposition is not.>>

My concern on this issue is that it is painfully obvious that my country's foreign policy is up for sale to the highest bidder. I could care less if its the Israelis, Arabs, Turks or freakin' Martians.....its a huge fundamental flaw in our system. Talk about a conflict of interests.
