She was on a drip, and got extra pills to push her over the edge. Possibly she had saved them from before she got to the drip stage, or possibly she got contributions from her many friends, or possibly a combination of the two. My father joined the Hemlock Society, hoping for an insurance policy against a hard death, but all he got was the plastic bag suggestion, which was to accompany some pills he was never able to get. A bullet is what people rely on when they have no choice and can't bear it any longer, but that requires planning ahead, and is scary and inconsiderate.
