The above is interesting, and I've also seen some really eye opening data on the shortage of real grocery stores in poor areas, which "forces" people to eat more fast food, unless they want to travel more than 10 miles to stores that sell fresh. When you look at the current research, I think you will find this is far more than a taste bud issue.

Everything I know about commerce says the consumer is KING, not the other way around. If the poor spent their limited money on greens, some computer would be tracking this, and the store would start shifting shelf space to track spending patterns. It is not a conspiracy of sugar producers and processors. It is most definitely the inclinations of those who don't care about their own health.
