Funny that you mention that. For the last many years, I've always thought I was German, as that was my grandparents ethnicity. Last year, I found out that my father was actually adopted (never knew this before) and that his genetic parents were Norwegian. The stigma of being an adopted child hid much of this under the rug until recently, but now the word is out and I can enjoy the Saurkraut and Brats based on flavor rather than cultural allegiance. ;-)
