Honestly, the NRA should be broken into three parts:

The GUN LOBBY - which is their main component - which is legally allowed to lobby for weapons sales. But they should be called the NAWA - or National Automatic Weapons Association. Rifles are not their issue. No one has an issue with hunting rifles.

The GUN SAFETY SCHOOL - which you need to graduate from before you can get a weapon. Including psychiatric examination.

The RIGHTWING EXTREMIST ORG. - Those dedicated to the overthrown of the US government by violent means, and for keeping down minorities and glorifying the white race. This is the third component of the NRA.
