So if you had access to a gun and this guy came down the hall towards you and friends you'd drop it out of principle? You clearly don't understand the 2nd amendment - it's about defense of self and country. That's right........the goal was to have the wild, wild west right into the 21st century. Sorry, Mr. NRA, I ain't buying your spin on what the second amendment is all about. Bottom line: the US is one of the most violent nations of the first world. Thirty three people are dead because we have nearly more guns than people. This whack job was not invoking the 2nd amendment in anyway - with filed off serial numbers he either bought the guns illegally or intended to ditch them afterwards in hopes of getting away with the crime.
