Rick, we should be very grateful that Nokia [or whoever, maybe just the sellers] drove the price of QCOM down so far. QUALCOMM has been shopping for shares and had bought a whole lot at $44 and $42, so imagine how many they bought at $35. They had about $10bn in kitty, so hopefully they did their buying then rather than waiting until the price goes back up to $50, or the current levels. [I am kidding - I don't think they bought many at all at bargain levels]

Personally, I wish they would NOT buy QCOM shares at these levels. I would like them to pay it out as dividends and anyone wanting to buy QCOM shares at these levels can do so.

They could have spent a few more $billion at $15 [split adjusted] but they waited a couple of years and paid $44. D'oh!!

I think they should stick with making ASICs and software and leave the investing up to me. They could have bought the bankrupt Globalstar assets, got them going properly, built a new constellation, and made $billions [right now they would have had a huge return on a Globalstar investment at the current share price, even without development].
