Question for the board. I know nothing about trading futures, but the CME has recently started trading hurricane futures (contracts listed below). Since I live on the Gulf coast, it crossed my mind that buying futures contracts might each year might actually be cheaper than buying insurance.

Since I know nothing about the futures markets, I was wondering if anyone might have a comment or could direct me to where I could find more info.
