As for taking the Virginia Tech shooting personally, how can I not?

Because I think these things are random events. This guy was very disturbed. Certain events came together to put him over the edge. And it didn't start at VA Tech. This guy was troubled for a long time..........and it looks to me like his parents did little to help him. Had he been getting some serious therapy, this atrocity may have been averted.

Getting back to you.......was he disturbed because he was Korean, or was he disturbed because he is human? Do Koreans have a higher incidence of mental instability than the rest of the population? If so, its the first I've heard of this trait attributable to Koreans. I think it could have been anyone....it happened to be someone of Korean descent. That's why I don't think anyone should take it personally. However, I do think we need to recognize that VA gun laws made it easier for this guy to go over the top and commit this horror. We've learned nada from Columbine.
