His successor isn't going to have a lot of fun either. You figure they will keep the troops in while they try to "win", either through the military or diplomacy. So you are probably looking at the end of 2009 before we get out; ~32 months. Maybe 3000 more US troops killed. maybe more if things get worse, as they have tended to.
