What you propse, would not have worked. Cho did not check in to the recommeded hospital, ergo, no records. Do I want the gov't asking my neighbors, old teachers, drinking buddies, barber and whomever else if they think I should be able to buy a gun? It makes no sense. The system functioned as it should. It let a legal person, obtain a legal gun in a legal manner. The person who obtained said gun, planned to use it illegally, used it illegally. So, how do you fix that when all rules and laws were complied wtih, except that which was supposed to be followed by the end user? The piece of trash who did this, is what is wrong. Do you not see that? You cannot protect the world against psychotic POSes like this guy.
