Canada is not at war with the U.S, nor do they---a low level form of war, hurl 12 year old boys and girls strapped with explosives into internet cafes in Detroit....the lack of a contiguous state is not an issue.
The cold war and the mindset ( very real ) of MAD loomed largely over the reasons for "peace" between east and west germany, not to mention the cultural affinities.
Respectfully: different time, places, circumstances.
Frankly, the concept of a non-contiguous Palestine seems like one pain in the ass for everyone. IMO, if everything else falls into place: Hamas neutered, Fatah firmly in control and all the other stuff that would make peace viable, Israel should cede some kind of pathway ( Palestenian owned ) between Gaza and the West Bank.
A pathway, initially, guarded by a neutral, international force for, let's say, 10 years. The Pals may, in turn, put something else on the table for Israel to close that component of the deal.
I haven't recently looked at a map so I'm speaking purely from an idealistic POV. It just may be impossible for reasons unknown to me.
