Bill,
I hear what you're saying, but you apparently paid no head to my main point. Instead, you may have only helped to strengthen it. The dynamics of the 21st Century Internet, despite its topological resemblance to tracks on some rudimentary level, does not constitute a railroad system. Nor do its dynamics resemble a telephone company or a cable tv operation. Therein lies one of the main causes of confusion between the Internet and railroads, IMO, since the PSTN and Cable, like railroads, are readily understood, whereas the Internet, even without getting all Zen'ed out over the matter, is not. If we can't get past this one distinction, in my opinion, then most of all else we could discuss in this regard gets sent straight to ground.
