You are reaching Tim. There were a lot of permits in the first year, many times the number of murders. Besides, you are assuming that the bulk of the murders occur during stickups and such. While it happens, most are not. In over half the cases, the victim knew his or her murderer. Packing heat wouldn't deter this sort of crime. Only about 25% of all murders occur during the commission of other felonies, and most of those are drug or gang related. And most of those are carrying anyway. So the number of possible murders that could be deterred by concealed carry is very small.
