I have some limited TMJ. My dentist is widening my bite by use of a mouthpiece at night . He wants me to wear it all day but i can't like getting accustomed to talking with the piece in my mouth.

There are TMJ specialists who use mouthpieces to adjust your bite so your jaw alters it's position. It is a medical problem but sometimes it can be altered without surgery. If your insurance will cover I would go for it as your TMJ seems to be kind of severe..............it's quicker to use the surgery cause it fixes the problem ( hopefully ).

Mine is not severe so I am paying for the dentist myself............I had some minor ear ringing and vertigo. It's not as severe as your TMJ.
