You guys have me confused here. I know I have done numerous repurchases with unsettled funds in my year+ with Fido. I had one trading violation (no penalty) but I thought it was for a sell/buy/sell combination in which both the buy and the second sell used unsettled funds from the first sell.

I'm going to a seminar next Wed (Demystifying Bond Selection for your Portfolio) and I will ask my Private Access guy for a clear definition of a trading violation.

Here's another question I have. Let's say you buy a income investment like a CD or short-term treasuries. Is there a couple of days of transaction processing both at the beginning and end of the investment where you are receiving no interest on the funds? If so, I think that has to be factored into whether the investment makes sense since the spreads between cash and short-term income stuff are so narrow right now.

One thing I liked about transferring funds to the institutional MMF was that it took place overnight with no apparent gap.
