Pete, the numbers I've seen show a downward trend in number of 4P servers sold, corresponding with an upward trend in number of 1P and 2P servers sold.

I've heard the arguments for 4P servers over 1P and 2P, but apparently the latter enjoy the economics of commoditization. Especially when a 4P server cost well over twice that of a 2P server. You can do the math from here.

I believe Google, one of the biggest trend setters in server consumption, is a huge buyer of 2P servers and blades.
