"I've been posting about the vulnerability of "gun free zones" since the tragedy at Virginia Tech occurred."

And I have been quiet. You stepped over the line when you started crowing about the Luby killings. You are trying to score political points off of a tragedy. Several, in this case. There is no evidence that such tragedies can be averted by concealed carries.

The Luby killings is a good example. The guy got into a firefight with the police when they arrived. In between, he was still shooting people. He was even wounded several times by the police who usually have weapons that aren't all that concealable. So they have greater stopping power.

There likely wouldn't have been less people killed, and likely would have been more if there had been other people with guns in that Luby's.

Too many people who have handguns don't have a lot of experience using them. Hitting a static target is hard enough. Hitting a moving target who is shooting back, is even harder. And this guy was very focussed and methodical. He used his military training to good extent. He wasn't panicked, like any hypothetical pistol packing patron would have been. Odds are good that they would have hit anything but the shooter.

Concealed carry isn't the answer. Your suggestion about armed teachers, with proper training, is a lot better.
