You don't actually look like Cho, except in the very broadest sense of being Asian.

No more than, say, El Mat and Mq look the same because they are both European.

Cho grew up less than five miles from where my kids grew up.

He went to the same high school my own kids would have gone to, except that we moved closer to DC in 1999, because we had more money than Cho's parents, in large part because we have better educations, because our parents had better educations than Cho's grandparents.

My older son was accepted to Cho's college, Virginia Tech, but decided not to go there. If he had gone to Tech, he would have been there this semester.

What happened with Cho had nothing to do with race, class, culture or ethnicity. He was mentally ill, which transcends all categories.
