The social conservatives want laws to stop others from certain private acts. The social liberals do the same. It's just a matter of whose Ox.

Interesting but I still see a fundamental difference.

The Social Liberals want to ban guns and the first order effect would be to stop the Social Conservatives from protecting themselves. As a second order effect the reduced levels of guns might reduce the access to guns and levels of gun assisted crimes.

The Social Conservatives want to ban drugs and the first order effect would be to stop the Social Liberals from hurting themselves. As a second order effect the reduced drugs may reduce the access to drugs and levels of addiction.
