I post for the info, interest and general enlightenment of all.
This is very important as far too many Americans are too parochial or insular in their outlook as a result of having been dumbed down over the years by an inadequate education system and by their politicians and the government-subservient media! Also, far too many Americans do not bother to read anything in depth; they generally rely on government-sanitized sound bites for their information and news. Too bad, they tend to swallow most things hook, line and sinker or lock, stock and barrel their government or subservient media spew out to them.
By the way I saw a program on YouTube this morning entitled, "Americans are Not Stupid". But, by golly, the title turned out to be ironic! When questioned, several Americans could not answer correctly simple questions like, "Where is Afghanistan located on the world map?" "What is the official religion of Israel?" (several people thought it was ISLAM), and most interesting and incredible of all, several people could not answer the question, "Give the name of a country whose name begins with the letter U."
Although only a handful of Americans egregiously displayed their ignorance on YouTube, I believe very many Americans are just as ignorant as those who were interviewed. No wonder, it has been relatively easy for Bush and his gang to hoodwink and manipulate Americans for far too long!
To be sure, a general awareness of what is wrong with America today and what need to be fixed and what is going on in the outside world will help many a voter to vote wisely.
