I love that reply to your post where someone says we are actually winning in Iraq and the evil media just isn't reporting it The coalition has already won the war with Saddam's Iraq. What comes of Iraq once we depart isn't something we can determine, since we will eventually depart. We can try to point it in the direction of what we consider to be a decent outcome, but if the locals don't want to go that way, that's their failure (or victory, depending on what they eventually get for their resistance to our efforts), but not our loss. After all, we're just going to pack up and go home. When you lose in war, you generally get completely destroyed.
