You know Nadine, liberals noticed before conservatives seemed to. When conservatives were hugging and kissing Saddam, Mother Jones was exposing Kurdish massacres. But I don't need to make it about "bad conservatives" and "good liberals" as you seem to need to do. There were reasons to play footsies with Saddam- although I tend to think it should have been more tough love in the relationship. I swear, I get so tired of the boring reflexive political garbage that spews around here as if it were history or realistic politics. Black and white just doesn't work for me in a wold of grays.

Saddam was bad- what we have now is worse. You may not think it is worse, but almost everyone else on the planet does, and we spent a lot of money to make it worse. Mass graves are sad, but political chaos AND mass graves, or mass bombings, is worse. You may not think so, but just about everyone else on the planet does.

And I've already done the dance with you about Al Qaeda. I think you are completely wrong about that; I've said why, and it would be just way too boring to discuss it all again. Ever heard the saying that "the enemy of my enemy is also a son of a bitch who wants to kill me too"?
