Sometimes I fail to see who is worse. The guy who shoots and kills people and makes one big headline news or the people who supports freedom to carry guns (read NRA) and as a result cause many gun related killings etc that don't get media coverage but hundreds of people dies every week because of that (stats: crime us handgun related deaths)
doctorsagainsthandguninjury.org "Substantial levels of mortality and morbidity are associated with firearms, particularly handguns, in the United States. Most firearm fatalities fall into three broad classes: suicides, homicides, and unintentional deaths. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate that, from 1981 to 2000, firearms were involved in 354,540 suicides, 281,904 homicides, and 27,470 unintentional shooting deaths. Another 8,602 gun-related fatalities were attributed to unknown causes, and 5,546 were attributed to intervention by law enforcement authorities.1" |
