The Ethiopians didn't cause the civil war. Small but oh so important difference between Somalia and Iraq. The US didn't cause Shias to hate Sunnis, or vice versa, or cause anyone to hate the Kurds. The US doesn't drive car bombs into crowds of civilians with the goal being to kill as many as possible, including the driver. If you think the US has caused the Muslim on Muslim atrocties that are taking place in Iraq, you must have a low understanding of Muslims in the region. Which is the primary reason we don't just up and leave: The fear that AQ or others will remember and pay a little interest at some distant point in time. I'd say this is complete George Bush hogwash. If the US leaves Iraq the local people are going to be dealing with each other for the forseeable future, not plotting to blow up the Space Needle in Seattle, on the other side of the planet.
